I wated to now, is there a way to increase the FTP file size limitation,
which is set to 2GB by default?

Look on the diff
ftp://ftp.icm.edu.pl/private/rzm/patches/wu-ftpd-2.6.2_64.200506.diff.bz2
which includes corrections of some types to make them capable of keeping
numbers >= 2 GB.
